TIPS AND EXPLANATIONS ON HOW TO BEST USE THE VDEX SEARCH AND HOW IT WORKS!
First note that for a majority of the country (and depending on your particular internet service provider) your zip code has already been identified and filled in based on your local IP address. There is also a 15 mile default preset for the search radius. This means that whether you use a basic keyword search or you use the Advanced Search, you will get results within a 15 mile radius from your general location. You can change this anytime by entering a radius of your choice – this could be 2 miles from where you are or 100 miles – whatever number you enter will be the miles in radius from where you are for which you will get search results based on your search input.
3 WAYS TO SEARCH
KEYWORD ONLY
This allows the user to enter only keywords for a designated search area (preset to 15 miles from the user’s local IP address … see intro above). Any city, state, zip code or radius can be manually entered and the user will only be given results for businesses that have designated to be identified by the keyword(s) entered for the search. Although we have made this search style available we HIGHLY recommend the Advanced Search method for the very best results possible.The Keyword Only search is best for finding a specific business by name or by address.
ADVANCED SEARCH
The Advanced Search is absolutely perfect when a user wants to find a group of businesses in a specific category and type in any area of the country they choose.The Advanced Search offers a list of categories to choose from, then a list of types within that category. A user can even go deeper by entering keywords – this will pick keywords only out of the specific group of businesses within the chosen category and types. This feature provides specific and exact search results so the user doesn’t have to wade through a list of unwanted businesses allowing for a much cleaner and efficient search experience.
